  CLIFF JOHNSON BIOGRAPHY

Cliff Johnson was raised on a turkey and dairy farm in Carver County, Minnesota. He is third of four children. He is a 1969 graduate in journalism from the University of Minnesota. Johnson has operated Cliff Johnson Marketing, a marketing consulting business, since 1988. Previously, he was employed for 20 years in the fields of publishing and advertising.

Johnson completed the University of Minnesota Extension Service Master Gardener training program in 1993 and the University's Tree Care Advisor program in 1999. He contributes more than 150 hours of volunteer time to the two programs each year. He also served as president of the state Master Gardener advisory board and on the executive committee of the Carver/Scott (County) Master Gardener program. He is also a member of the University of Minnesota extension committee in Carver County.

A regular columnist on gardening for the Chaska Herald, Johnson's writing also appears regularly in many other newspapers and magazines. In 1999, he authored and self-published his own gardening book, "Putting Down Roots - a delightful blend of gardening wisdom, wit and whimsy."

For hobbies, Johnson enjoys gardening, golf, hiking, hunting, fishing, travel, photography and woodcarving. He is an INTP on the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator and an Enneagram Type 9.

Johnson and his wife, Wanda, are residents of rural Chaska, Minnesota, and have two adult children, Amber and Fletcher, and two granddaughters, Lily and Lindsey.
