NON-GARDENING STORIES
These stories are all from "the typewriter era" and when I came across them recently I decided to share them on this website.
The 4000 Miles story was written in 1967 while I was still in college. My traveling companion, Denny, and I still travel together, along with our wives, and we still reminisce about our summer trip to Colorado.
The BWCA story was written in the late 1980s after an unforgettable week-long canoe trip with my friend Mike, my son Fletcher and a friend of Fletcher's.
I can't remember why or when I wrote Lessons from Dad but I'm grateful I put these thoughts and memories down on paper. My dad passed away in 2001 but his lessons continue to serve me well.
The fourth story, Oasis Marina, is a piece of fiction that grew out of a creative lunch with a work cohort and fishing buddy a long time ago. Give it a read and let me know your reaction. It probably won't launch my career as a fiction writer but it was fun to write.
